Behind the scenes of the Night of the Notables:

Click on this image for the description The boys working really hard during class on their essays and various other things such as speeches and abstracts. My friend, Manfred is concentrating VERY hard, by the look on his face (I'm sure he wasn't THAT bored, contrary to the look on his face!)

Click on this image for the description This is Mr Morrisy, my English teacher, looking particularly enigmatic. I would like to take this opportunity to thank all the English teachers who have put so much effort into helping student prepare for the Night of the Notables. We wouldn't have got this far without your unfailing help, Mr Morrisy! Thank you again!

Click on this image for the description Finding images is a large part of the Night of the Notables process. Here, my friend has been looking for some pictures of his notable, Nikola Tesla, the man who changed the world of electricity. Be sure to check him out: Manfred Cain, 7 Spinola. (Yes, I know, I just had to do a bit of advertising. But still. Do check him out, he's put a lot of work into his presentation and his portrait painting is particularly good. )

Click on this image for the description This is the checklist that everyone is given and we have to tick the items off as we do them. As you can see, this person *ahem, ahem, definitely NOT me... *cough* *cough*, has not finished his speech... tsk tsk tsk!

Click on this image for the description This is my mum making hundreds of Spring Rolls on her own... SuperMum! I am doing Anh Do, obviously, so I asked mum if she could make some Asian Food for me... and this is the process. She rolls each Spring Roll one by one, by hand and they each take her approximately 10 seconds to make each. Please come along and taste some of her cooking!

Click on this image for the description We were required to draw a map (BY HAND!) of a place that was influential in our notable's life, and we learnt how to draw a map, and what to include in Geography. Here, Mr Beers is teaching us about 'BOLTSS'... standing for Border, Orientation, Legend (or key), Title, Scale and Source.

Click on this image for the description Toby Johnston from 7 Spinola posing with his timeline. He's quite an efficient worker... his notable is Adam Garone... the guy who invented Movember. Yes, Movember, not a typo. MOVEMBER. It's an interesting choice Toby.

Click on this image for the description For the day, we were meant to do something to put on our laptop... my friend, Jack, is doing an iMovie on Steve Jobs, obviously the creator of Apple (if you don't know that, you have probably been living under a rock but whatever). I'm putting this website onto my screen for my laptop presentation, but be sure to check Steve Jobs and Jack out: 7 Spinola. It's quite interesting.

Click on this image for the description For our table, we were each required to make a folder with our essay and various other elements in it. Here is my classmate, Andy, posing with his folder (no idea where he got the Xavier Logo from). He is doing Fiona Wood, who invented spray-on-skin.
