Anh Do. My Life.

I was born in Vietnam to a porverty-striken family. My family were forced to leave when I was only 2 and a half years old. We were at sea for five days, and were attacked by two pirates in the time. The first band of pirates took everything except for our broken engine. After they were gone, my father used a rubber thong to repair the second engine and we were going again. Then, we were unlucky enough to meet another pirate ship, and this pirate ship took everything we had left... inlcuding our second engine. As they left, a younger pirate, a more inexperinced one, and one that had a heart, threw us a gallon of water. That gallon of water kept us all alive until we met another boat. The crew jumped onto our boat and started hacking the boat apart with axes. It turned out they were German Merchants and couldn't actually rescue us unless our boat was sinking.

We were taken to a refugee camp in Malaysia where we staued for three months, before Australia eventually offered us sanctuary. We flew by plane to Australia, where we were welcomed with open arms. I started and finished my education successfully and the rest is history...

Did you know?

That both my wife and I have lawyer degrees, yet we don't follow a law path for employment?
